Who Are Friends of Campland?
Friends of Campland is a group of campers, San Diego residents and families that have joined together to help save Campland on the Bay and access to waterfront camping on Mission Bay.
What’s At Stake?
The City of San Diego is considering future plans to reshape northeast Mission Bay Park. Unfortunately, as part of the process, the amount of waterfront camping spaces is being re-evaluated and could possibly even be reduced. At the same time, Campland’s future is also uncertain, and a separate process is underway to study turning Campland’s current property into marsh.
What does this all mean? In a nutshell, the existence of Campland – and access to waterfront camping as we know it today – is at stake and will be determined by these critical City planning decisions. Public participation will be key throughout this process!
